BBVA AI Factory is the global development center where BBVA builds the Artificial Intelligence capabilities. We work to respond to the bank’s priorities, while also seeking to ensure that the impact of AI reaches the entire organisation.

Our mission is to create new products based on Artificial Intelligence that make banking easier for our customers or improve the way we work.
We are committed to the positive impact of AI
We therefore believe in the development of AI that takes into account aspects such as bias mitigation, fairness and the ethical and secure usage of information.

2023
BBVA AI Factory becomes an internal BBVA unit
As of June 2023, BBVA assimilates AI Factory within the internal structure of the bank's Data division. This way, BBVA reinforces its commitment to the development of new solutions based on data and Artificial Intelligence.
2022
Best Workplace for Innovators, according Fast Company
BBVA AI Factory Ranks No. 1 in the category of Small Companies and No. 40 in the overall Fast Company’s Fourth Annual ranking of the 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators, thanks to innovation initiatives such as "Program X" and its commitment to diversity.
2021
From BBVA Data & Analytics to BBVA AI Factory
In 2021 we take a further step in consolidating the AI Factory space within the bank. BBVA Data & Analytics SL becomes BBVA AI Factory SL, a new company within the BBVA Group.
2019
Shaping the AI Factory
We move to new offices where a multidisciplinary group of people starts to work together as one team, with the aim of building global data products and services within the banking sector.

Technology Project of the Year, by The Banker
The Financial Times’ The Banker magazine awards us with their Technology Project of the Year award in the category of Risk Management.

We opened the debate on Recommender Systems
In early 2018 we organise an unconventional gathering of artists, public servants, designers and creators to explore the implications of Recommender Systems (RecSys).
